For 93 years every person with whom Viola came in contact with, grew to love and admire her. She was born into the large “Mader “ family which still resides on the south side of Indianapolis. Their family was very dedicated to their Catholic religion. They lived near and belonged to Sacred Heart parish. All her brothers and sisters have proceeded her in death.

Viola's death is the end of an era as well as the end of a link to their parents. She married Robert Higgins and together they raised 10 children in a happy, well structured, and loving home. She always made every day things fun.  She was always there for her children. Her priority was the responsibility of teaching her children morals and values.

Through many challenges she comforted others and never had an unkind word for anyone. She faced every day with a smile and her faith at the top of every decision and action. She taught us all what respect, dignity, and integrity was through her every action. She was a blessing to all and a gift from God. She passed to her final reward surrounded by her children, children by marriage, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. We thank Grace at Home for allowing her to be comfortable in her home while managing medical issues and Guardian Angels Hospice for helping her pass comfortably and for the family support they gave.  In lieu of flowers, the family would most appreciate contributions in their mother's memory to the Holy Spirit Building Campaign, 7243 E. 10th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46219.  Envelopes will be available at the visitation for this purpose.
